Darius Giroux (Philadelphia Union – 2012-13 league season)
Giroux was a regular for the Union last season and contributed 17 goals and 11 assists in 67 regular season games. His goal on July 10 vs. San Jose was one of two he scored in the final six games of the regular season.
Dylan Larkin (Rochester Rhinos – 2012-13 USL season)
Larkin, who won a USL Championship with the Rhinos in 2014, has nine goals this season. He started five games for the club, including scoring the game winning goal against Sacramento Republic FC on May 21.
Larkin, who scored a goal against San Jose as the Rhinos claimed their first USL championship in 2014, joined the Philadelphia Union on May 14 and is currently with the club until the New Year.
Matt Porter, who worked in youth soccer with both the Union and the Red Bulls on the U18 level, will be the club’s Assistant Coach with the Union. Porter, who was born in North Carolina, is married with two children.
Porter left a role with the Red Bulls after his last two seasons to come to the University of South Carolina where he coached the women’s soccer team. He was the head soccer coach at South Carolina from 2009-2011 and 2010-2010. Porter played professionally for New York Red Bulls from 1997-2011.
Randy Edwini-Bonsu, who joined the Union with the first draft pick of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, started 27 matches and tallied 10 goals and five assists in 31 games last season.
Juan Guzman, the team’s first pick in the second round of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft, appeared in three games during their first USL campaign before signing with the club. It was Guzman’s first season for the club and he made one appearance.
Matej Paulovic (LA Galaxy – 2015 MLS SuperDraft)
Paulovic made a major impact for the Union as an attacking midfielder. He played an impressive 39 times at the wing, recording five assists and scoring three goals while assisting another in the process
